Conor Oberst + Phoebe Bridgers = Better Oblivion Community Center. They just released their first album together a few weeks ago, but Conor Oberst has quite a discography and Phoebe Bridgers has a great album and a great EP with boygenius out.

How have I never heard Commander Venus? I like Bright Eyes and Cursive but managed to miss this completely. Thank you for sharing.
There are some people out there who manage to put out high quality music for a long time. The other one that immediately comes to mind is John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats. I think that both he and Oberst have benefited from spending most of their careers out of the spotlight. Sure they have large followings, but they have a lot more freedom than a big celebrity on a major label.

Agreed. They continue to make music because they love it. They don’t care for fame or have to listen to a record label tell them what they expect from their music. They can just put out what music they feel.
And you are welcome. I think Oberst was 14 there and Kasher was 16. I stumbled upon that song accidentally on lime wire or something looking for Cursive songs. Didn’t know a t the time exactly what I had found lol. Impressive stuff.

I do like that! And I had not heard of them. Over the past 5 years I’ve gotten much more into female vocalists. I will listen to more of them!

They only have a 6 track EP, but each of them are accomplished solo artists.
